EXAMINATION RESULTS.
GOOD AVORK BY TARANAKI SCHOOLS. HUGH TEACHING EFFICIENCY. The results of the examinations lor Junior National Scholarships, as published by us a few days ago, arc worthy of more than passing notice, insomuch as they show clearly the liigh standard of primary education in our own education. district. Taranaki students are placed in the following enviable' positions in the credit list, made up for the whole dominion:— Marks. Doris Lawn (Fitzroy) Ist ... 672 Colin Campbell (Stratford) 2nd 666 lan Roy (West End) 4th ... 634 Douglas Overbye (Stratford) 9th 619 Over 200 competitors sat for the examinations. Another pleasing feature of the results is that quite a number of Taranaki schools—nine, to be exact—presented successful competitors, which shows that a high state of proficiency exists throughout the whole district. ’ Still another pleasing feature is the fact that in proportion to tfto number of children in the various districts Taranaki lias gained more passes than any other in the dominion. Those arc very pleasant reading and we heartily congratulate the Taranaki Education Board on the enviable position its pupils have attained.
