“ A special meeting of the committee of the Stratford Racing Club was held last evening. The President, Mr A. W. Budge, occupied the chair. iA rough balance-sheet of the last race meeting was presented by the acting-secretary, Mr G. D. Hunter, which showed a very satisfactory financial position, the New Year races having resulted in a net, profit of about £IO7O. The matter of effecting still further improvements to the course, and especially to the totalisator house, was discussed, tho feeling being unanimously in favour of continuing the present progressive policy, which is fully warranted by the thoroughly sound position in which the club now is.
