ENGINE DERAILED.
A HORSE ON THE LINE. At 5.30 o’clock this morning the Public Works ballast train struck a horse on the line at the crossing cast of Toko. Little is known locally of the accident, except that the c ig no now reposes in a swamp alongside the line, with the mangled remains of its victim underneath. The driver, iiioman, and guard, the only men aboard, seem to have had a lucky escape, as no one was injured. The District Engineer of Rain ays, Mr. Jones., proceeded to the scene of the accident on a motor jigger 1’ is morning.
