GIVING OF CAPS AND BADGES. DISCON TIN LED. At a meeting of the Council of the Now Zealand Amateur Athletic Association a profit was reported on the recent Australasian championships of £212. It was decided to discontinue the practice of giving caps and badges to athletes reaching the standard, and to present a'certificate instead, and that in distances under 4.4oyds only the wanner of the heat or final is eligible. The mover of tho resolution said caps ami badges were no longer valued. They were, in fact, quite out of date. A special medal was presented to Pugh who ran second in the three mile championship.
