LATE LOCALS.
Tlie Stratford Borough Council v ill hold a special meeting in the > ouncil Chambers on Monday next, .January 15th, to decide the statutory closing day for shops. Master Kenneth Wilson, the five-year-old sou of Mr. Arnold Wilson, who went North some day’s ago to recuperate after a severe illness and operation for appendicitis, recently developed the same complaint. Hie little fellow was operated on on Sunday by Drs. Stevens and Carbery, and is now progressing favourably 7 .
The Miss Bredow mentioned in a telegram elsewhere in this issue as having had a marvellous escape from death in Palmerston is a daughter of Mr. F. W. 11. Bredow, of Douglas. Private advises state that one of Miss Bredow’s shoes was torn oil, but it is not thought that she is seriously hurt. Miss Bredow, who is in Mr. B. Harkuess’ office, is well known in Stratford.
