Previously loans over two thousand were charged I per cent. WEST AUSTRALIAN LOAN. (Received 8, 9.40 a.m.) Perth, January 8. The Government is floating another half million local loan at 4 per cent, at par. Ins subscriptions include £l7l, 000 over-subscribed on a previous loan. A SIGN OF PROSPERITY. (Received 8, 9.40 a.m.) Meffiourno, January 8. As showing the prosperity of the State, the secretary of the A.M.P. Society reports that there are no arrears of interest in the Society’s loans on freehold property, totalling two millions.
