NEW ZEALAND AND FEDERAL COMPANIES. WHO' IS EATER AND EATEN? London, January 4. The New Zealand Shipping Company has acquired a controlling interest in Die Federal Company in exchange for a portion of the unissued shares, which are credited as fully paid. The owners of the Federal Company have promised to hold the shares en bloc for a period of years. Mr Allen Hughes joins the New Zealand Board. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s shares have lisen from £l7 10s to -illß l()s. 11 'The ’limes states that the amalgamation is the result of the J’. and 0. ships calling at Auckland. IS THE INFORMATION CORRECT? (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, Last Night. The local manager of the Shipping Company says the cable is hardly correct. The Now Zealand Shipping Company has acquired an interest in the Federal Company, but has not amalgamated with it. Mr J, J. Kinsey, local agent for the Federal Company, could say nothing on the matter at all.
