VITAL STATISTICS.

THE STRATFORD FIGURES. Mr. S. H. James, Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, supplies details of the vital statistics for the year. In comparing the figures with those of the preceding year, it must be remembered that the district is now considerably smaller, there being a new Registrar at Whangamomona. Tiie total number of births for 1911 was 212, as against 2GB in 1910. For the past month the births were 17, and the deaths 3. Deaths for 1911 were 59, as against 19 for 1910. Marriage certificates were issued to the number of 63, as against 45 for the preceding year. In December last there were 9 marriages.
