Several people wore seriously injured in a coach accident near Cass, Canterbury, yesterday afternoon. The sufferers wore taken with all possible haste to Christchurch. It is not expected that any of the cases will prove fatal. A drowning tragedy occurred at Lyttelton during the regatta on Monday. A crew of six from the “Morayshire” were supplying the comic element, when one saw a hat floating on the water, raid although lie could not swim lie dived in after it. Lie got into difficulties; and two of his friends jumped to his rescue, one of them being drowned.
