PETROLEUM SHARES.
BUSY TIME AT NEW PLYMOUTH. (Per Press Association.) New Plymouth, December 30. ■ Applications closed last night for shares in the Taranaki Oil V eils, Ltd. by the shareholders in the Taranaki Petroleum Co., who are entitled to 55,000 shares in the new compapy as part payment. The staff has been engaged* night and day during the week receiving applications. It is evident that the shares will bo overipplied for, but it is impossible to say at present exactly how many.
