Although the players expressed keen opposition the Board of Cricket Control decided to appoint a secretary to the next Australian team to visit England at a renumeration of £IOO. The players have the right to appoint their own manager. The secretary will watch the Board’s interests." It was decided that it was Impossible for the team to visit New Zealand on their return, but New Zealand would ho invited to visit Australia next summer. NORTH TARANAKI v. SOUTH . TARANAKI. A match will he played on the New Plymouth Recreation Grounds on New Year’s Day, between teams representing North and South Taranaki. Dio local players making the trip are Messrs. Dunlop, Boyes and Hartley. Eltham are sending Stewart and Walker; Hawera Pratt and Hill: Manaia Stapleton and Bullock; and Okaiawa two men. The following will represent North Taranaki: —Elliott, Weston, Perham, Gwillim, Matthews, Bain, Arden, Gudgeon, Dinniss, Hasdl, Osborne.
