THE LAST AUSTRALASIAN TEAM. WHY IT FAILED. (Per Press Association.) •' „ Wellington, December 28. The New Zealand Festival of Empire Committee last night entertained Mr. R. Coombes, who was their representative in London, with the Australasian team. In the course of Ids reply to the welcome Mr. Coombes said the team which went Homo was fore-doomed to faiure. The members of the team reached London one by one, and were located in different parts of the city. Consequently it was difficult to deal with them as a team. The men were left to their own devices. Whenever a team went Home again the members should go together and be in the same quarters, and when they got to England they should be bound to do as they were told by the representative in charge of the team. The team was marked for defeat before it left the shores of Australia and New Zealand.
