N.Z. L. and M.A. Co.’ Weekly Report.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile lAgency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report:— On Friday, loth inst., ive lield our monthly sale at To Wora, when we had a full yarding. Practically everything was sold at the hammer and afterwards, and realised the following prices:—Yearling steers 43s to 545, yearling heifers 51s to 575, 2year steers 7Ss, dairy cows 85s to 1255, store cows 70s, empty heifers 37s Od to 91s, bulls 50s to 755. On Tuesday, 19th inst., we held a combined sale in our Stratford yards. The combined sale, as on previous occasions, worked very satisfactorily, and prices realised under keen competition were full market values :—Yearling steers 44s to 50s and 545, 2-year steers 72s to 78s 6d, yearling heifers 50s to 60s, and a line of Jersey-Hol-steins made to 695, bullocks 100 s to 115 s, and 120 s, store cows 70s to 78s, fat cows 105 s to 110 s.
LONDON PRODUCE MARKET
Following is a copy of the weekly report dated November 16th, received by Mr. Newton King from Messrs. R. .>nd W. Davidson, Glasgow:— Continental Butters.—There has been a decided improvement in the demand this week and stocks of choicest ire well cleared at an advance of 2s to 3s per cwt.' over last week, secondly butters also share iii the improvement. As indicated in our last week’s report everything points to good markets for some considerable time with probably slight advance in price. Telegraphic advices yesterday from Copenhagen indicate that the market there was much firmer and the quotation today has been declared two kroner up. Danish and Swedish.—The total arrivals of Danish this week show an increase of 105 casks. There was a brisk demand, and stocks were quickly bought up at an advance of 2s to 3s. We quote choicest goods to-day 135 s to 1365.
Siberian.—The total arrivals this week amount to almost 6000 casks. There lias been a good demand for all grades with a slightly firmer tendency. Wo quote choicest quality 120 s to 1225, choice 114 s to 118 s, secondary goods 108 s to 112 s. French.—There is nothing new to report regarding this grade. There is very little on offer and the market continues very firm. Irish Creamery Butter.—The season is now practically finished, and only a few small shipments are coming forward. For choicest quality there is a very brisk demand, and prices on the week are at least 4s per cwt. higher. Wo quote choicest salted 132 s to 1335, choicest unsalted 134 s to 1365; cold store arid secondary goods are now meeting with a better demand, and prices on these are also considerably higher 110 s to 120 s. Colonial Butters.—Australian: The arrivals this week are 29,000 boxes .by the s.s. Orontes. There has been a good firm market, and all stocks are being readily cleared on arrival. Choicest quality 126 s to 128 s, with 2s more being made for one or two pet brands. Ujisaltcd is still, scare, and commands from 132 sto 1;345; secondary goods arc also selling better at prices ranging from 114 s to 1225. New Zealand. —The s.s. Tainui with 21,000 boxes on board, dpeked early this week, and her butter is now being discharged. There is a good trade passing for choicest quality, general quotations arc 130 s with Is to 2s more being made exceptionally for a few favourite factories. Saltless quality may bo quoted ,132 s to 1345. Imports to the United Kingdom.— The total figures up to 11th November this year, and for the corresponding period of 1908, 1909, 1910 are as follows 1908,, ‘3,640,314,cwts ; 1909, 3,520,409cwt5. 1 1910, 1 3,695,196cwt5; 1911, 3,775,070cwt5. Cheese.—Canadian; The market rules very firm, prices for choicest white and coloured 69s to 70s. New Zealand.—The s.s. Tainui with 3000 crates is now discharging, prices quoted for these 68s landed terms. Imports of the United Kingdom.— The total figures up to 11th November of this year, and for the corresponding period of 1908, 1909, 191Q.are as follows 1908, 2,024,710 cwts.; 1909, 2,083,959cwt5.; 1910, 2,147,269 cwts. 1911, 2,088,634cwt5.
