AUSTRIAN SOVEREIGN’S COFFIN

OPENED

AND THE SKULL STOLEN

(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) Vienna, December 27. A window in the vault of St. Mark’s cemetery was broken, and the remains of Alexander Karageorgovitch (King Peter’s father), was an coffined. The skull was stolen, but the jewels were untouched. During the miscreant’s flight the lower jaw became separated from the rest of the head, and was lost. The outrage is ascribed to a Servian revolutionary society allied to the Black Hand organisation.
