The “Daily News” protests against newspaper attacks on the Gaekwar of Baroda. It recalls his introducing educational and other reforms long overdue in other parts of India.

ROYAL DISPLEASURE,
Owing to statements on the seemingly indifferent manner displayed by iihte Gaekwar of Baroda when ho paid lomago to the King at the Delhi Durbar, the Gaekwar, in a letter, expressed his sorrow at his failure to ibserve etiquette, stating that it was hie to nervousness. The “Daily Mail’s” 'Delhi corrosiondent stated that the Gaekwar of iarocla, after. a single how, turned ■is back on their Majesties, with a ;mile of which the intention was unnistakeahle.
“The Times’ ” correspondent declar'd that tho Gaekwar has variously ihown a tendency to disregard the luties imposed by the relations of Banda to the Supreme Government. Many Indian extremists came from Jaroda, even some of those employed n the Gaekwar’s household, while the 'xtremist press lias studiously exceped him from their scurrilous attacks hi the other princes.
