IMPERIAL UNITY.
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO
LORD DUDLEY
SELECTED IMMIGRANTS
London, December 21. Lord Dudley, speaking at Worcester, said the greatest security for Imperial unity and colonial adhesion lay in continually sending the best hoys, soundly educated, to the colonial dependencies. He did not suggest that there was a likelihood of deterioration in the colonies, hut considering Australia was fifteen thousand miles away, it was likely, unless there was an influx of new British blood, there might be a danger of a separate type. It was impossible to conceive that papule so far separated would remain closely knit in customs, views, and development, especially as they were climatically different, without tho infusion of a British strain. He believed tliis point was fully recognised overseas.
