WOOL SALES.
DUNEDIN’S FIRST SALE OF THE SEASON. PRICES KEEP STEADY. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, December 19. The first wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 5067 bales were offered. There was an exceptionally large number of buyers from dl the chief manufacturing countries >f the world, and the sale went with i swing from start to finish, very few lots being passed in. One very noticeable feature was the American ■ompetition, especially for lots of >rignt Romney or super crossbred ■tools. The wool from the majority ;f the districts was in decidedly better condition than was the case last year, being lighter in grease, stronger in staple, and better grown.
