aWORK AUTHORISED BY FEDERAL HOUSE. NEW ZEALAND LINE. (Received 19, 10.30 a.m.) Melbourne, December 19. In the House of Representatives Mr Frazer introduced a Bill to authorise the Pacific Cable Board to construct a cable from Australia to New Zealand. Ho said it only rested with Australia, to complete the authorisation. It was a matter of urgency, duplicates being necessary to obviate delays and breakdown. Mr Fisher said, ho had heard of something being done in connection yith a State-owned Atlanitc cable, which might be expected, but the Commonwealth was in the hands ol the British Government in the matter. The Bill passed all stages.
