THE INSURANCE BILL. London, December 15. A meeting of two thousand doctors at Manchester resolved to refuse to act under the Insurance Bill. They favoured forming a national medical union to safeguard tho professional interests. FEMALE SUEFRAGE. (Received 16, 8.5 a.m.) London, December 15. Mr. Asquith, in the course his reply to the National League deputation*, said that if a referendum of men alone were taken the wona” would resent the verdict. Personally ho was convinced that giving the franchise to women would be a mistake of a very disastrous kind; He Felt that it was time for those holding strong views to take off their "■oats and put the case against suffrage cogently before tbo public.
