A conference of local body representatives was called for this afternoon to be held in Stratford to consider the half-holiday question, hut only Mr Browne (Mayor of New Plymouth) and Mr Bennett (Inglewood Borough Council) attended from outside. The discussion was, therefore, largely informal. It was decided, however, to a/lirm tlie desirability ol a universal half-holiday in the province. The Stratford delegates were Messrs Masters and Richards.
