HOUSING AND I'ACTOR! ES. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) Sydney, December 12. A Royal Commission is enquiring into housing conditions and factory work .
Several doctors gave the opinion that labour in factories was deleterious to the health of- girls generally, and one stated it was amongst the greatest causes of immorality, especially where the sexes were mixed.
Another said that when girls were earning good wages they did not desire to marry. Where they did marry they did not desire children because they prevented them from returning to work.
AN ERA OF STRIKES,

Mr Bell, organiser of the British Seamen’s Onion, interviewed, said ho anticipates an era of strikes in England ror the next two years. In the House it was announced that the Government did not intend to renew the offer of an aviation prize to stimulate Australian inventors. A sura of £IOOO is placed on the Estimates for establishing aviation works and a school for military aviation purposes. ' r
