Flying Handicap, 6 furlongs.—St. Toney 9.0, St. Bill and Smilas 8.10, Golden Loop and Patriotic 8.9, Masted Sylvia 8.7, True Shot 7.13, Con the Shaughraun 7.12, Kareroa, Red Lupin and Te Roti 7.9, Hinekorangi 7.2, Starboard 7.0. WOODVILLE MEETING. SECOND DAY. Woodville, December 11. The weather for the second day’s racing at the Woodville summer meeting was fine at the start, although a heavy wind was blowing, but before the Woodville Handicap was run heavy rain set in. which continued until the seventh race. The attendance was a great improvement on the previous Saturday, and betting was very brisk before the rain set in. However, the sum of £8365 passed through the tote, which made £15,537 for the meeting, an increase of £4900 on the corresponding meeting last year. The meeting passed off without a hitch of any kind, and would have been the most successful over held by the club but for the rain. Results:— Second Hack Hurdles.—Waiputere 1, Polynices 2, Fond Memory 3. A splendid race, all the horses jumping well. Won by a clear length. Time, 2.53 3-ssec. Scrached: All Trump* and Ruahine. Hack Welter.—Plantation 1, Royal Arms 2, Mira 3. A fine race, half a dozen horses having a say. Coming down the straight a desperate finish was fought out by the placed horses, Plantation winning by a length and a half, a length between second and third. Time, 1.3 2-ssec. Scatched: Sam Pan and Lady Laddo. Summer Handicap.—Parable 1, Coromandel 2, Sir Antrim 3. A magnificent race. Won on the post by half a head. Scratched: First Battery and Golden Age. Stewards’ Hack Handicap.—Merrie Lad 1, Rongarnau 2, Turna 3. Won rather easily by a length. Time, 1.19. Scratched: Taft, Ladrone, Plantation, Taonui. Railway Handicap.—Moree 1, Gold Battery 2, Sea Eagle 3. Won after a desperate struggle by half a length. Time, 1.5 4-ssec. Scratched: San Pluie, Bow Bells, Sinapis, Winning Post, and Mocroa. Hack Scurry.—Muleteer 1, Eminent 2, Swallow 3. Won easily by a length. Scratched: Waitai, Ceylon, I Xukuatu, Mira, Kingswell, and Fas- ] hion Plate. | High Weight Handicap.—Mi Jim 1, 1 Stevens 2, Sea Queen ,3. The best j race of the day.
