Newton King’s Stratford Weekly Report.
At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a. fair attendance, but only a moderate yarding of pigs came forward in consequence of the rough weather. Prices, however, were fully maintained. I quote: Slips and weaners 11s, 17s, 19s, and 27s_; calves Is to 7s. Next Saturday I will be offering several Christmas lambs. At the Mart.—Ducks 2s to 2s sd, cockerels 7d, table potatoes 6s cwt., new potatoes Id to L)d lb, green peas 9d peck, furniture and sundries at usual auction rates.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date Bth instant:—Frozen meat.—The market is quiet for mutton. There is more enquiry for beef (sides), and the market for lamb has slightly improved.
