At Portland, Maine, Frank Sandford, leader of tne Holy Gnost and Us Society, was convicted of causing cue death of six persons aboard in» yacht the Coronet. it is alleged mat Sandford allowed the yacht to proceed on a voyage uusupplied with me necessaries of life. Sandford refused legal defence, declaring that God was tne only defence he needed.
