TWO SEVERE FIRES
Sydney, December 8. , A lire at Campordown in Mr. Workfold’s Carriage ‘ Manufacturing Company, destroyed a large qu anti tv of timber and maclimery. Mr. Workfold’s private residence adjoining' was destroyed. The damage is estimated at £6OOO. „ . . . , A second fire afterwards broke out in Guthridgo Company’s factory, and the stock was badly damaged Hie stock included a quantity of rack-a-rock,” which exploded. The damage is £3OOO.
LITHGOW STRIKE FINES
Sydney, December 8. All lines in ' connection with the Lithgow strike were paid to-day.
EXTRAORDINARY STORM
Adelaide, December 8. An extraordinary storm occurred at Bowhill, on the River Murray. live inches of rain fell in twenty minutes, and crops wore washed out by the roots. >/I if ; ■ ■
