Washington, December 8. Persia has appealed to the United States against Russian aggression, trusting their sentiments of honour and justice will secure Persians-against opposition.

Lord Morley, replying to Lord Curzon respecting Persia, said the Imperial Government's policy was to maintain the Anglo-Russian Convention, mediate benevolently, and if Britain and Russia kept together, he believed they would soon see the solution. It was not the intention of Russia to support the Shah, and Sir Edward Grey had warned Russia that it was impossible for Great Britain under any circumstances to recognise him.
