Brisbane, December 8. The weather was hot and the wicket good for the match agamst an' Australian Eleven. There was an attendance of 5000. England opened disastrously three wickets falling for no runs. ’I lie defence of Kiunear and Douglas saved the side. Hearne also was sound. Iho scoring throughout was painfully slon. The bowling was splendid, but the fielding wretched, several chances being missed. ENGLAND—First Innings.
