STATE BANKING.
FEDER AL BILL READ A THIRD TIME. PROTESTS FROM BANKERS. (Received 8, 9.15 a.m.) Melbourne, December 8. The House read the Banking Bill a third time.' Mr. Fisher indicated that banks would bo opened probably before next session. He reiterated that there was no intention to raid the State Savings Banks. Mr. Fisher has received numerous protests from bankers against the proposal to reduce the Federal Bank gold reserves.
