PROCEEDINGS AT THE ANNUAL MEETING. THE SEASON’S PROSPECT'S. (Received 8, 8.5 a.m.) Melbourne, December 8. At the annual meeting of the Kauri Timber 00. the report was adopted. The chairman stated that since the close of the financial year they had secured a fair quantity of fresh bush which would absorb some cash in hand. Referring to the recent alterations in the tariff he said the effect would be to raise the price of butter boxes. As they were producing better grades for tlio flutter business they would he compelled to make a large quantity suitable only for fruit cases if the market for this class was restricted £ ■or taxed heavily. The price of the better classes would have to be raised to compensate for ’loss on the lower grades. The outlook for the current year was encouraging, with good inquiries for forward business. They expected to pay a half-yearly dividend in Juno.
