TAKAPUNA MBETING. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, December 3. The Takapuna Jockey Club’s spring meeting was continued on Saturday in heavy rain. The attendance was good, but after the fourth race, owing to rain, the remainder of the races were postponed. The sura of £7471 was invested in the tote, on the four races. The results of the events decided are as follows: Kawau Hurdles.—Presently 1, Blue Mountain 2, Master William 3. Dhudeen was scratched. Won comfortably by a length. Time, 3min 35 2-5 sec. Stanley Handicap, Highly Atom 1, Miss Jewell 2, Urukehu 3. All started. 'Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 52 3-5 sec. Spring Handicap, of 150 sovs; 1 mile.—J. Muir’s Bine Garment (Sten-
ning), 1; Wee Olga, 2; Sir Artegal, 3. Also started: Captain Soult, Mahcno, Sphinx, Zinnia, Master Jack, Miss Livonia, Caedmon. The slippery course was responsible for four horses coming down together, viz., Sphinx, (Whittaker), Master Jack (Conquest), Maheno (Ryan), and Miss Livonia (O’Shea). Blue Garment took the lead early, winning by a length and a half. The others were placed close together. Time. Imin ISsec. Vauxhall Handicap, of 100 sovs; 7 furlongs.—La Rcina (W. Percival) 1, Tiresome 2, Mamnnia 3. Also started ; Miss Ada, Master Lane, Cloudy
Dawn, Makura, Avalon, Butter, Miss Jewell, Plesperian, Marie Regina, Belle Crispin, and Lenella. By tlii:; time the course was impossible for good racing. Six horses fell, viz., Cloudy Dawn (Oliver), Avalon (Stockley), Rutter (C. Brown), Miss Jewell (Hall), Lenella (Satman), Miss Ada (McFlinu). Won by half a length. Time, Imin 35sec.
