Hides.—Firm. Small lots offering. Basils, firm. Now Zealand, 173 d. THE WOOL SALES. At the wool sales there was a good selection of merinos, and there was brisk sale. Competition was general. Forty-three thousand nine hundred and forty-four bales were catalogued, and 41,919 sold. The Gear clip brought top price, 14 id, average Hid. The Hillersden clip sold at lOd top, average 93d.

South American sheep, light, 33d; heavy, 33d; ewes, 3 7-10 d; lambs (first quality), 43d; second quality, 43d. Beef: Frozen' fores, 2jjd; binds, 3 9-1 Od; chilled fores, 2|d ; hinds, 43d. Other meats unchanged. WHEAT SHIPMENTS. (Received 4, 8.45 a.m.) London, December 3. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,895,000 quarters; for the Continent, 1,395,000; Atlantic shipments, 388,000; Pacific, 40.000. The total shipments to Europe for the week amounted to 1,185,000 quarters, including Argentina, 53.000, Russian 195,000, Danubian 280.000, Indian 72,000, Australasian 03.000.
