THE INSURANCE BILL. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, November 22. The committee stage of the Insurance Bill lias been completed. An amendment making the domestic servants clauses optional was negatived by 212 to 95, but Mr Lloyd-George promised to embody a suggestion to give the servants the option of sick pay and free medical attendance or superannuation and invalidity benefits.
MEDICAL OPPOSITION. ,

The medical profession in Sheffield, Liverpool, Kent, Cheshire .and several other districts have resolved to boycott the Insurance Bill in its present form. SUFFRA.GETTE DEMONSTRATION. London, November 22. The suffragettes seized the bridles of constables’ horses. Many chained themselves to railings and lamp posts, and they were released with difficulty. Tiie arrested include Miss Billinghurst, a cripple, whose hands wore lashed to a tricycle.
Whilst tlie police occupied Parliament Square well-organised groups of suffragettes were engaged in twos and threes window-smashing. First mixing with the crowds on the pavements they suddenly produced stones, hammers and catapults, and smashed scores of windows of Government offices, private houses :a Whitehall, Parliament Street, Victoria Street, the Strand, and also Lord Haldane's and Mr John Burns’ private residences, the “Daily Mail’s” headquarters, and the “Daily Nows” office. The nubile had many marvellous escapes. A BY-ELECTION. (Received 23, 8.5 a.m.) London, November 22. The by-election for Somerset South, necessitated by the elevation of Sir E. Strachcy to the peerage, resulted:—li. Herbert, Unionist, 4878; H. Vivian, Liberal, 4720. PACIFIC CABLE BILL. (Received 23, 8.5 a.m.) London, November 22. The House of Lords has read the Pacific Cable Bill a third time.
