tii i in v-sKVK.vm snow. The Taranaki A. and I’. Society’s thirty-seventh Spring Show opened yesterday, the weather being squally ,uid boisterous. This naturally a (feet - ed the attendance. The entries ol stock were much larger than has ever previously been the ease, horses showing an increase of (i-t, sheep do, dogs •);■)(), and dairy produce eight. Cattle dunv a falling-oil' of seven entries, uul pigs live. In addition, the quality of the exhibits was of a high standard, and there were excellent specimens of the various breeds. The dog section was strong, and included prize-takers from some cl the biggest shows in both islands. The various officials' worked splendidly, and did not allow the weather to damp their ardour. -Mr A. Cliff, tin? secretarv gave courteous attention to all. ' ’ Dairy Produce. The Dairy Produce Competitions readied as under:— BEST BOX FACTORY HITTER, net less than s<il!>. First prize. Mess's Lovell and Chii.Tmas’ Challenge Trophy of (he value of 75gns, to go to" the factory, and to bo won three years in succession or five times at intervals. And £lO 10s cash, with certificate, to go to the make of the hotter each year. Second prize, the Society’s award of £5 ss. Third prize, the Society’s award of ££ £s.
