HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. (Per Press Association) Wellington, November 20. Following is me High Commissioner’s cable dated London, ISLii Novemoer (quotations unless otherwise specified are for average market prices on spot):— Mutton.—The market is firm, although trade is very disappointing, there being only a very hand-to-mouth Remand for stocks on hand, cine Canterbury 43d, North Island 4d. Lamb.—There is a better tone in the market this week. The market is steadier, and holders are firm. Canterbury 5-id, other than Canterbury ■PJd. Beef.—The market is steadier. Stocks of New Zealand on hand are light. New Zealand hinds 3)cl, fores 2 id.

Pork.—There is a large supply, which is selling cheap. New Zealand is in small supply. Average price 4. id.

Butter.—The market is firm, and there is active demand at full prices. The shipment of butter ex s.s. Tainui arrived in good condition. New Zealand butter is giving satisfaction to buyers. New Zealand 13is, Australian 1275, Danish 1235, Siberian 1235, Argentine 12Gs. Cheese. —The market is firm, and there is good demand for cheese. New Zealand 68s, Canadian 70s, Chechia r (Engli sh) 88s. 'The shipment of cheese ex s.s. Tainui arrived in good condition.

Hemp.-—The market is firmer, although trade is quiet. Spot; New Zealand good fair, par ton, £2O; fair grade £l9, fair current Manila £2O. Forward shipment: Now Zealand, good fair £2O ss, fair grade £l9 5s Gd, fair current Manila £2O 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 18,000' bales.
