THE PREMIER AM) WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE. NO GOOD FOR THE STATE. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, November 18. Mr. Asquith, replying to a deputation of suffragettes, stated that personally he had never seen his way to support women’s suffrage, because, lie was unable to persuade himself it was good for the State. The majority of his colleagues favoured women’s suffrage, but the Opposition was as much divided as the .Ministerialists.
