LATE LOCALS.
Mr Geo. Mcßaiu and Mr Arnold Wilson, both ofVnom have been seriously ill, are stated to be improving friends will be glad to learn. Mr F. P. Uuiacka leaves Stratford on Monday for Adelaide, where ho will meet Mrs Uniacke on her return from Europe. Mr Uniacke’s many friends unite in wishing him a real pleasant journey and a safe return. We are informed that there has been considerable mortality among carl.v-shorn sheep in the Stratford district, owing to the exceptionally heavy weather experienced of late. A very peculiar incident occurred yesterday which resulted beneficially to Mr T. Webb, of Bird Road. It appears that during the very heavy hail squalls a swarm oi bees were driven on to Mr "Webb’s property, and remained there. As Mr Webb, in common with other bee-keepers, lias suffered considerable loss through had weather preventing the bees getting sufficient food, the strangers were heartily welcomed and provided with house accommodation.
