THE ELECTRIC LIGHT QUESTION.
(To tlio Editor “Stratford Post.”) Sir, —In reply to “Givis No. 1”, as I have written one of the letters (signed “Ratepayer”) referred to, I give you full permission to disclose my name if “Givis” will do likewise. N I fancy the ratepayers cvill find he has more interest in. selling than I have in trying to prevent the sale of the concern. Personally, lam sorry to criticise Mr Masters, but am opposed to the methods he is employing. I am quite sure that I only voice the opinions of a large majority of the ratepayers. In reference to your correspondent’s idea that the letters mentioned by him were all written by one person I would be pleased if you could give some intimation whether this is correct or otherwise, both for my own and “Givis No. I’s” satisfaction. For my part, I would like very much to see every shareholder do well out of the Electric Supply Co.’s business, but not by selling the concern at an extravagant price to the ratepayers. Let them carry on their business until the expiry of their term without being harassed, but let the Council do their duty and see that the ratepayers get value in return for a concession valued at £4OOO goodwill,—l am, etc. RATEPAYER. Stratford, November 17. [The letters referred to wore all written and sent in by different persons.— Ed. ‘Stratford Post.”]
