FIRES.

(Per Press Association.) Wanganui, November 13. A seven-roomed house on Putiki Hill, owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Low, was destroyed by lire last evening. The occupants were sitting in the dining-room when something was hoard falling in the passage. On opening the door Mr. Low found the passage a mass of damns, and both had to escape through the dining-room window. Ivjr. Low had his hands burnt and was cut about the head. The house was insured for £l5O in the South British Office, which also held a risk of £250 on the furniture.
