Auckland, November 8

The biggest scheme of city improvement undertaken for many years has been definitely agreed upon between tiie Harbour .Board and the Railway Department. The Board has agreed to reclaim 32 acres at Mechanic’s Bay at the Department’s expense for the extension of goods yards. A block of buildings covering seven acres will be swept away. The lessees will be duly compensated by the Department for loss of buildings. The Department’s yard space will be increased from 18 to 44 acres.
