A deputation from the Intor-Par-liamcntary Union waited on the Premier and asked that tne Government take the eailicst opportunity to mediate in Tripoli, if possible, in concert with other Powers; Mr Asquith and Sir I'M ward Grey explained the difficulty of acting until there was a prospect of 'success; Ihe Speaker firmly prevented Mr D. Mason’s attempt to move the adjournment of the Conhlions to discuss the atrocities.
The Government amendments to the Insurance Bill to reduce the repayments by soldiers' and sailors to Ikl; a separate, seamen’s fund will ho established, managed by the Board of Trade; shipowners are exempted from contributions in respect of foreign employees trading to foreign stations.
