EGMONT AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

THE HAWERA SHOW. It would bo seen on reference to the list published yesterday that the entriesdpr the Egmont annual show are, considering the late season, very satis•factory. To secure this result, the responsible officials have made enthusiPstio.efforts. The Society’s members, therefore, while they may derive pleasure from the prospects for this year’s show, should not forget that great credit is duo to their officials; In a district that is making rapid strides in connection with forming matters an increased interest in the Society’s welfare and its annual show is only a natural sequence. But the marked advancement and development generally in pastoral affairs throughout the district is in some measure due to the activities of the Egmont Association. That the outlook for the coming show is so promising is a matter for congratulation to all concerned. An idea of the enterprise on the part of the Executive Committee may be gathered from the improvements made to ground fixtures during the past month or so. The Society is in a flourishing condition, no fewer than 139 new members and one life member have been added since the annual meeting in May last, and the membership is now a record for the Society. In addition to the assured high quality display in stock sections, the homo industries division promises to be of great interest by reason of its large entries, and the ring events should also prove very attractive, some splendid southern horses competing. The usual side-shows element will be present in good force. All indications are of a promising order, and under favourable weather conditions this show should hold its own.
