BOUND FOR CHINA.
NEW ZEALAND HELP
A well-known Chinese resident of New Zealand, Mr. J. Luo, is at present in Auckland, en route to China, where he proposes to take an active part in the rebellion now in progress in his native country. Speaking to a “Star” representative, Mr. Luo said he was leaving a lucrative business in Wellington to go back and . offer his services to the revolutionary party. Ho had been carrying out a hurried tour of the Dominion prior to hk departure, with a view to raisinfunds, and in Wellington alone he Inn raised £3OO. Auckland and othei cities were subscribing, and he ex pected to cany away a large sum t., assist tiie movement in favour of the overthrow of the Manchu Government. Ho proceeds to Sydney, where other Chinese, now resident in Australia, will accompany him to China, there to take up arms for the progessivc movement in favour of reform. The Chinese in Australia wore also_ contributing largo sums to the fighting fund.
“The revolution is going to he complete,” said Mr. Lue, who is a Chinaman of some standing in Wellington. “The people of China are with Dr Sun Yet Sen, and they are going to adopt no half measures. Promises of reform are of no use now. The monarchy must go, and he replaced by a republican form of government such as they have in America.
