TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES. Newton King’s Report. On Tuesday, 21th October, I hold my usual tour-weekly sale of above produce, the catalogue comprising G bales and 88 sacks wool, 3105 sheepskins, 17 casks 10 boxes and 55 tins tallow, 1453 hides, 7215 calfskins, and the usual quantity of bones, hair, etc. Wool.-—None of this season’s yet to hand, that catalogued selling at par to Id lower. Sheepskins.—ln sympathy with the decline in the other markets, showed a drop of Jd to fd. Hides.—Superior cow (lights) were Id to §d lower; ordinary cow, fcl to :pl lower; light ox also showed a decline of Rl to fd, heavies and stout being at about par with late rates. Horse hides were a great deal easier, at 3s to 4s each lower. Farmers’ cow and yearlings at par to Jd lower with late rates. Tallow.—Harder, with 5s to 10s per ton advance. Calfskins.—Firsts fd to fd lower, ordinary fd to ,' ( d lower. STRATFORD WOOL, SKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALE. Young, Robbs and Co.’s Report. On Tuesday, 24th inst., we held our usual four-weekly sale of above produce, before an average attendance of buyers. The catalogue comprised 2 bales 9 bags wool, 579 sheepskins, 308 hides, 788 calfskins, and a small quantity of horsehair and cowtails. Wool.—This offering comprised mostly crutchings and dead, which sold well at late rates. Sheepskins.—The sheepskin market was very dull, and promises to keep so for some time. All lines were easier, up to kl P el ' lb. At Kaponga on Friday, 27th lilt., we iiad an average yarding, stock selling readily at recent ruling rates.
