ROADS THAT STEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
BUT WHAT ;W THEY SAY?
In view of a similar set of circumstances which re.-curly happened in Stratford, the feE-wing letter to the edb.ui ( I tin; “E etahuna Express” from a Tawatara resident is of indirect from the American Bio-
in your report of the Alfredton meeting on Tuesday last, Cf. Kebbell is made to say “that the roads of the riding showed there had been wise administration, and that they spoke for themselves; and that he had been anxious to keep the rates down and roads up.” The only road I use in the Alfredton riding is the Tawataia road, and when it comes to speaking this road will bo very eloquent. A perfect oration in fact, not that there lias been wise administration, but that there has been no administration whatever. The rates on this road have risen, but the road is going down, down, down, till, stumps which were once' below the level or the road are
now away up, airing their eloquence. I don’t know how the roads arc treated generally in the County, but the scandalous treatment this one receives is sufficient for me to desire a change
