SHEEP KILLED AND MANGLED

Sydney, November 1

The collision between the mail and stock train was caused while the latter was shunting on to a loop lino to allow the Melhonrnc-Sydney mail to pass over the shooting points. Just as Dim mail approached, the sound of an irnmet roused the residents, who were quickly on the scene, and rendered assistance.

Thore was great excitement among tho pasesngors till the doors were unlocked and they were released. Altogether nine were injured, mostly from shock and bruises. One was removed to tho hospital, and the others proceeded to their homes after medical attention.

The traffic was blocked for many hours. Several sheep trucks were smashed, and a lage number of animals were killed and mangled. Three engines and other rolling stock were damaged.
