THE TROUBLES OF HORATIO BOTTOMLEY.
A mooting was held on Thursday, September 1, in Devonshire Hall, South Hackney, London to " consider" Mr. Bottomley's address to the electors, tho address'in question being one issued bv Mr. Bottomloy on August 15, in which he stated that the £50,000 case had "come to an end with the withdrawal of all imputations upon my personal honour." Aftar consideration the following resolution was carried: — "That this meeting views with deep concern the serious charges that have been brought against the member for South Hackney, Mr. Horatio Bottomley, by Judges and counsel during the past few months, and the unenviable notoriety obtained by tho same. It is dbaraed to lie in the host interests of the constituency that the sitting member severs his connection therewith, and this mooting hereby calls on him to take an early opportunity of so doing". When the resolution was put to the meeting only ton hands were held up in opposition.
