LAWN TENNIS.

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, October 31. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was held to-night, Mr H. M. Gore presiding' 'over an attendance of twentythree delegates. The annual report and balance-sheet and quarterly report (all previously published) were adopted. The election of officers resulted : Patron: His Excellency the Governor; vice-presidents: Messrs W. R. Holmes (Auckland), William Goss (Canterbury), F. Logan (Hawke's Bay), C. J. W. Griffiths (Marlborough), C. H. Broad (Nelson), R. Bauchop (Otago), R. T. Tennent (Southland), Dr. H. B. Leatham (Ta* ranaki), C. N. Stout (Wanganui), H. G. Gore (Wellington), and Dr. Teichelmann (West Coast); delegate to Lawn Tennis Association, Dr. Eaves; delegate to Lawn Tennis Association of Australasia, Messrs V. H. Baxter, Metcalfe, and Wetherby, a fourth lo be appointed by the management committee; committee of management: Messrs Barton, F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., H. M. Gore, Redward, F. P. Wilson, G. A. Hurley, and V. T. Gray; lion, auditor: Mr H. G. Didsbury; secretary 7 and treasurer, Mr Arthur J. Petlierick. It was decided that the appeal committee be located in Auckland, and that the appointment of the committee be left in the nanus of the executive. The matter of electing a president was left in the hands of the management committee. On the motion of Mr F. M. B. Fisher, it was decided that the meeting place on record its appreciation of the efficient services rendered by Mr A. J. Petlierick as secretary. ' Mr T. Gray (Otago) moved, on behalf of the Otago Association, that no association be entitled to exercise votes for ' increased strength unless application for such increase of voting power is in proper order, and in the hands of the secretary of the i\e\v Zealand Lawn Tennis Association at least fourteen days prior to the meeting at which such increased power is exercised. The morer did not know that Otago's proposal was the best that could be formulated, but it v,as a step in the right direction. After being amended to permit of it becoming an amendment of the rules, the motion was carried. The Waikato Association was granted admission to the New Zealand Association subject co its constitution being in order. The new Association has Hamilton as its centre. The Masterton Club protested against the dates, January 20th, 22nd, and 23rd of the Wellington Association for the championship tourney, which they considered usurped dates for the Wairarapa championships and handicap tournament. Masterton Club, lie considered, had no staniing so far as the .W/.. Association was concerned, and its protest should come through the Wellington Association. The meeting unanimously approved of the Daylight Saving Bill, and a vote of uhanks was accorded Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P., for his efforts in connection witli the Bill. Mr F. M. B. Fisher stated that he had received word from Mr Stephen Herryhow, editor of "American Lawn Tennis," that Messrs Larned. Heals, Wright, and McLauch!in would visit New Zealand in connection with the Davie Cup tournament. Lamed, who had been four years the singles champion of America, had declined to make the trip unless Peals, Wright and McLaughlin also went. After some trouble it nad been arranged that the three should go. It was the finest team America could possibly send away. Mr Fisher explained that his information was not official. A member stated that intimation bad been rereived that the men would leave America on October Ith and spend six weeks in New Zealand for practice before the tournament commenced,
