A TEN YEAR’S INCREASE
Melbourne, October 30. The final census returns of the population of Australia show the number of people to be 4,445,005. an increase in the 1901-11 period of 681,204.' The Victorian increase is 114,481, New South Wales 293,602. Queensland 107,684, South Australia 50,212, Westralia 97,990, Tasmania 18,076. .(Received 31, 9.30 a.m.) : ■ , Melbourne, October 31. The census shows that the population of New South Wales is 1,646,734, of ; the Federal Capital 1714, Victoria 11315,551, Queensland 605.813. South Australia 408,558, Westralia 282,114, Tasmania 191,211. Northern Territory 3310. The aboriginal population of Australia is 19,939.
