(By Toucher.) The Stratford howling green will be officially opened for the season on Thursday afternoon next with tlm tlsual match between teams chosen by the President and Vice-president. Of, course all depends upon the weather. v Bowlers will be glad to learn that Mr G. Jackson has returned to Stratford from the Wairarapa for the suasion ; John, however, will not he able to take, an active part in the game. ■ Communications have been received from New Plymouth, Fitzroy, and West End Clubs asking for dates to be fixed for the banner games. A meeting of the Stratford committee will possibly he held to-night, when all fixtures will be made. So far as New Plymouth is concerned, whatever date is fixed for the, meeting here, the seaside excursion holiday - will be taken advantage of as usual to play the return mutch.
