THE TERRITORIALS.

Sergeant-Major Kibblewhite, instructor to the 11th Regiment, who has been stationed in Stratford since the local defence office was opened, has received notice of his transfer to the Assistant - Quartermaster - General’s stall, and he leaves for Wellington to-morrow . During his short stay in Stratford Sergeant-Major Kibblewhite has made himself very popular with those who have come in contact with him.

At the end of this week the officers of the 11th Regiment will hold a “staff ride” at Stratford. In these “rides” the officers carry out the details of an engagement with imaginary forces.

It is probable that the first drills in the district will be held about the middle of November,
